IT IS SUDDENLY VERY COLD IN LONDON. I AM JUST LEAVING TO GET MY EUROSTAR TRAIN.
AND BECAUSE I AM GOING TO A FUNERAL
I AM IN THE MOOD TO ONLY LISTEN TO THAT PARTICULAR GOSPEL SONG.
I DISCOVERED THAT SONG IN AN EPISODE OF "GIRLFRIENDS" WHEN I WAS CHECKING TO WATCH THE SHOW BECAUSE IN FRANCE IT WAS NEVER SHOWN. AND I JUST HEARD THIS AMAZING SONG.
FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT AMERICAN "GIRLFRIENDS" WAS A SHOW ABOUT 4 AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN. AT ITS TIME IT WAS LABELLED "THE BLACK SEX AND THE CITY" BUT FOR ME IT WAS MORE THAN THAT. FOR ME THE BIG DIFFERENCE IS THAT I ALWAYS THINK THAT "GIRLFRIENDS" WAS MORE REAL.
BUT MAYBE I AM NOT VERY OBJECTIVE. PLUS YOU WERE ALWAYS LEARNING SOMETHING FROM THE SHOW. OF COURSE I DID LOVE "SEX AND THE CITY" BECAUSE I THINK THAT THEY SUCCEED TO TALK ABOUT SEX WITHPOUT BEING TOO PORN AND VULGAR.
BUT THERE IS ALSO A DIFFERENCE I CRIED WHEN I SAW THIS EPISODE BUT I NEVER REALLY CRIED DURING "SEX AND THE CITY". NOT ONCE!
IF YOU HAVE SOME TIME TRY TO WATCH THIS SHOW YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT. IT IS SO GOOD.
GOD BLESS AND HAVE A GOOD WEEK AND FOR SOME HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I agree with you: Girlfriends was a great show. And I know exactly the episode to which you refer. This song has become somewhat of an anthem in the black church . . . everybody knows it and can sing it without my thought. Thank you, Donnie McClurkin!
