MY HAIR STORY EPISODE 9

EPISODE 9 HOW INTERNET SAVE MY HAIR LIFE

WHEN I DECIDED TO GO NATURAL I HAVEN’ T INTERNET YET SO I WAS NOT REALLY INFLUENCE BY SOMEONE IN THE WEB. BUT INTERNET CHANGED MY HAIR LIFE DEFENITIVELY.
Nobody can’t deny that internet in general was a revolution when it comes to have an access to valuable information especially when big companies where the only ones which can afford to advertise about their products through the media. INTERNET gave people the power to speak, to inform and of course to communicate what they want.
WHEN it comes to natural African hair this is so true. You have so much activities with blogs, websites above all video tutorials.

SUDDENLY, you are not alone. You can see yourself. EVERY TYPE OF HAIR, AGE, SKIN TONE (Light and dark) are represented. And believe me I live in England the skin tone issue with the natural hair is crucial. Guess what!

Every time you see someone with natural hair on TV, this person happened to be mixed race with light skin tone. You rarely see dark skin black women with an afro. They always wear a wave. If you want to see dreadlocks , it most of the time on black men. It is quite disturbing because again it gives the impression that even if you want to wear your hair in a natural state, you have to be mixed race so your hair will be soft enough.

YOUTUBE CHANGED ALL THAT THANK GOD. BECAUSE THE TUTORIALS ARE ABOUT REAL EXPERIENCES AND RESULTS. NO PHOTOSHOPPED- WIG MODELS USED TO INDUCE AN ERROR OR WRONG IDEA ON WHAT YOUR HAIR WILL LOOK LIKE.

Demonstration of all sorts of recipes, products (old and new), methods and hair styles on all types of hair. So much to see, to learn and to try. For everyone, even the “straight addict “ because some became natural not necessarily to wear an afro like me for example (me, it was because I just want to get rid of chemicals and find a way to have soft hair without them but I always thread or braid my hair) but some want their hair to growth longer and thick in order to blow dry and pressed them.

There is a huge debate about it because some think that if you use heat (blow dry, pressed iron) we cannot be consider natural.

NOTHING WRONG FOR ME. BUT I think we need to be desintoxicated from the straightness look. This look is the one who allow companies to sell us products more and more corrosive AND poisonous like the infamous Brazilian blow out who contained a high percentage of formaldehyde, which is a know carcinogen and used to embalmed dead people, yeah!
CARCINOGEN is a substance or agent that can cause or aggravate cancer. Because we are obsessed with the straightness we, always, like an addict need a dealer ready to sell us anything to nurture this addiction.
THAT’S HOW THESE BEAUTY COMPANIES WORKED.
SAME THING FOR THE HEAT I REALLY THINK THE BEST HAIR DRYER IS AIR.

WE REALLY REALLY REALLY NEED TO MAKE PEACE WITH OUR HAIR.
