DEEP AND QUICK CONDITIONER : ALMA OIL + YOLK + HEAT

I COULDN'T MAKE MY MASK SHAMPOO BECAUSE I WAS OUT FOR THE WHOLE WEEK END. SO I HAVE TO MAKE MY DEEP TREATMENT BEFORE LEAVING ON FRIDAY EVENING IN ONE HOUR. I HATE MISSING DAYS OF TREATMENT ESPECIALLY DURING THE WINTER SEASON WHEN OUR HAIR NEED MORE PROTECTION THAN EVER. SO WITH THE HELP OF THE HAIR DRYER, I CAME UP WITH THIS QUICK METHOD.

I detangled my hair after wearing 2 braids the all week;

IT IS the only method where Alma oil is good with my hair by not drying it;

I used 2 Tble spoon of Alma oil, 2 Tble spoon of my basic conditioner and 1 yolk;

I mixed evrything properly, the texture was thick enough;

I washed my hair with a natural soap as usual;

I sectioned my hair in half and put the mask on one part first

Then finished the rest of the head

My sister while detangling my hair with a comb used the hair dryer at the same time to help the mask to penetrate deeply;

My hair are completely dried now, I wait 20 min the time to prepare my bag then I went to rinse it;

I rinsed my hair 20 min later;

My hair are very soft, shiny and easy to comb;

I moistured my hair with a mixture of coconut oil, jojoba oil and castor oil;

My protective style, 2 pony tails with thread then I wore a scarf it's winter after all;

I KEPT MY HAIR THIS WAY UNTIL MY NEXT SHAMPOO THE NEXT FRIDAY WHEN I TOOK OFF THE THREAD, I ALSO MOISTURISED MY HAIR DURING THE ALL WEEK WITH THE MIXED OILS MENTIONED ABOVE.

ALMA ALMA ALMA

I JUST TRIED THIS WEEK END A NEW TREATMENT WITH ALMA OIL. IT IS USED AND POPULAR BY INDIAN WOMEN. ALMA OIL IS TO INDIAN WOMEN WHAT JOJOBA OIL OR COCONUT OIL IS FOR US. IT IS TRUE THAT THEY DON'T COOK WITH IT LIKE COCONUT OIL OR PALM OIL BUT THEY EAT IT THE FRUIT A GROOSEBERRY WHICH IS VERY USED ALSO IN NATURAL MEDECINE. ITS JUICE HAS A LOT OF CURATIVE PROPERTIES.

THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BOTTLE ADVICE YOU TO PUT THE OIL, MASSAGE AND LEAVE IT OVERNIGHT. THEN YOU SHAMPOO THE NEXT DAY. IT SUPPOSES TO STRENGHTEN YOUR HAIR INSIDE AND OUTSIDE AND PROMOTES SHINESS AND GROWTH. IT HAS ALSO THIS PARTICULARITY TO DARKEN HAIR.
SO IT IS FORBIDDEN FOR BLONDES OF COURSE. BUT IN INDIA THERE IS NO BLONDES THAT'S WHY I WILL NEVER STOP BELIEVING IN GOD. LOOK HOW EVRYTHING IN NATURE HAS A PURPOSE.

MY SISTER WAS TOO TIRED TO DO OUR TRADITIONAL TREATMENT WITH EGG AND PALM OIL SO SHE DECIDED TO USE ALMA INSTEAD. I USED ALMA OIL 2 TIMES AND MY HAIR DIDN'T LIKE IT. MY HAIR BECAME DRY SO I STOPPED. FOR SOME PEOPLE IT HAS THIS EFFECT.

SHE PUT ALMA OIL ON HER HAIR BEFORE WASHING IT AND WAIT 30 MINUTES. THEN SHE WASHED HAIR WITH A NATURAL BASIC SOAP AND SHE FINISHED WITH OUR CONDITIONER.

This is how it looks like in its natural taste; It is an indian gooseberry;

This the brand we used;

After Alma oil treatment application her hair are so soft and shiny, we really really love the txture;

Because of the sofness we try "to play" with it;

We looooove the shining effect;

I made her two braids for protection;

MY SISTER HAS DECIDED TO KEEP THIS REGIMEN FOR A WHILE SO I WILL INFORM YOU ABOUT THE PROGRESS AND THE RESULTS.

ENTERTAINMENT AND DISCUSSION : YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS PLEASE!

AS THE ONLY BLACK GIRL DURING ALMOST ALL MY SCHOOL YEARS IN FRANCE I CAN RELATED TO THIS SITUATIONS WHEN WHITE PEOPLE ASK YOU VERY STUPID, STRANGE AND FOR SOME RACIST QUESTIONS.
THE FACT THAT NOTHING HAS CHANGE SINCE I AM AN ADULT NOW MAKE ME THINK HOW CAN WE EDUCATE SOMEONE AND BE SURE THAT IT HAS AN EFFECT ON THE "STUDENT".
BECAUSE DESPITE THE FACT THAT I LIVE IN FRANCE MORE THAN 30 YEARS I STILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS KIND OF PREJUDICE.
BUT LONG TIME AGO I PREFER TO LAUGH AT IT. THAT'S WHY I LOVE THESE VIDEOS AND IT IS INTERESSING THAT EVERY CULTURE HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS WHEN WE INTERACT WITH WHITE PEOPLE.

I WANT YOU TO TELL ME THE 10 MOST STUPID QUESTIONS OR STATEMENTS YOU HEAR FROM WHITE PEOPLE OR ANOTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT BLACK.

BECAUSE I DECIDED LONG TIME AGO TO FORGET THEM AND TO LAUGH AT IT. I WILL TRY TO REMEMBER SOME.

1- YOU HAVE DEFINITIVELY A WHITE ANCESTRY ? ( MY RELAXED HAIR were long past my shoulders; I try to argue that it was because of the traitements that i was doing nothing convinced my co worker.)

2- PLEASE I REALLY LIKE THIS SONG, CAN YOU TRANSLATE WHAT IS ABOUT ? ( When they hear an african song or african people speaking any native language, we supposed to speak every african dialect))

3- EXCUSE ME BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND, YOU REALLY DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT COLOUR.( One of my sport teacher who was angry and disapointed that i was so bad in athletism and sports in general)

4- DID YOU EAT PEOPLE IN YOUR COUNTRY ?( Cannibalism has to be the norm in Africa since TARZAN 'S MOVIE)

5- HOW YOUR HAIR CAN GROW SO FAST ? ( i was wearing braids with extentions)

6- CAN YOU READ AND WRITE ? ( If you speak and write your own language it doesn't count, you are an illiterate)

7- YOU ARE MARRIED? DID YOUR PARENTS FORCED YOU? ( Apparently it can't be by love)

8- HAVE YOU BEEN MUTILATED SEXUALLY ?

9- HAVE SUFFER OF HUNGER IN YOUR COUNTRY?

10- ARE YOU SURE YOU DON'T HAVE CHILDREN ? ( When i was working at Disneyland Paris, despite the fact that i told them that i don't have children, they kept sending me invitations for the christmas party reserved for employees with children and all sort of vouchers; Because AT 24 black women have already at least 2 children.)

DID SOME OF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE THAT KIND OF SITUATION ? IT WILL BE INTERESSING TO POST THEM BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE TO READ ABOUT YOURS.

YOU CAN NOW ENJOY THESE ONES. THIS IS VERY FUNNY FOR ME MAYBE BECAUSE LONG TIME AGO I DECIDED THAT IT WILL NEVER AFFECT ME. E.N.J.O.Y !

MALIK SIDIBE " L'OEIL DE BAMAKO " ---- BAMAKO'S EYE

TODAY I WANT YOU TO DISCOVER A MALIAN PHOTOGRAHER HE IS 76 YEARS OLD. HE WAS BORN IN SOLOBA A SMALL VILLAGE IN MALI( WEST AFRICA )A COUNTRY NEAR SENEGAL.
HE WAS NICKNAMED ( L'OEIL DE BAMAKO ) BAMAKO'S EYE BECAUSE HE SPENT MOST OF HIS PROFESSIONAL LIFE TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE PEOPLE OF BAMAKO WHICH IS THE CAPITAL OF MALI.
HE LEARNT PHOTOGRAPHY WITH A FRENCH PHOTOGRAFER WHEN HE WAS WORKING IN HIS STUDIO IN 1955. IN 1962 HE OPENED HIS OWN STUDIO WHERE HE IS STILL TODAY. LIKE "TEENIE" HARRIS ( DID YOU REMEMBER HIM ? ) HE WAS ALSO A REPORTER AND HIS PHOTOS ARE A TESTIMONY OF HOW AFRICAN PEOPLE ( MALIAN IN THIS CASE) LIVED DURING THE FIRST YEARS OF INDEPENDANCE ( MOST OF AFRICAN COUNTRIES BECAME INDEPENDANT IN THE EARLY 60'S). IN THE BEGINNING HIS WORK WAS FOCUS ON THE RICH, YOUNG AND PRIVILEDGE PEOPLE OF BAMAKO. THEN IN THE 70'S HE STARTED TO MADE ORIGINAL PORTRAITS.

IN 2003 HE RECEIVED THE HASSELBALD LIFE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD. HE WAS THE FIRST AFRICAN.
IN 2007 HE RECEIVE " LE LION D'OR" BY THE VENICE FILM FESTIVAL FOR ALL HIS CARRIERE.
IN 2009 HE RECEIVE TWO MORE PRICSE, ONE IN ESPAGNA AND ANOTHER ONE IN THE USA.
HIS WORK IS HEXIBITED ALL OVER THE WORLD. HE STILL WORK TODAY.

LOVE HIS WORK FOR A LOT OF REASONS BUT MOST OF ALL IS BECAUSE EVEN IF ALL THIS PEOPLE ARE FROM MALI, MY PARENTS WHO ARE CAMEROONIANS HAVE THIS KIND OF PICTURES OF THEMSELF WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG. I ALSO HAVE MY ONLY BABY PICTURE (9 MONTH OLD) TOOK IN THIS KIND OF STUDIO. BECAUSE I WAS BORN IN DOUALA.

MY FATHER IS VERY ILL ( I CAN LOST HIM AT ANY MOMENT? BUT I JUST DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT IT) SO WHEN I LOOK AT THIS PICTURES I THINK ABOUT WHAT WAS HIS LIFE AND ALL HE HAS BEEN TROUGH AS AN AFRICAN EMIGRANT IN FRANCE AND HOW WAS HIS LIFE DURING THIS INDEPENDANCE DAYS IN CAMEROON. HE IS SO PROUD OF HIS COUNTRY AND HE TEACH ME AND SHOW ME TO BE PROUD OF WHERE I CAME FROM EVRYDAY. THAT'S IT.

IT COULD HAVE BEEN ME AND MY SISTERS.

HIS WORK IS SO POPULAR TODAY THAT YOUNG MALIANS COPY THE SAME STYLE OF PICTURES FOR THEMSELF.

INNA MODJA A NEW YOUNG MALIAN SINGER CHOOSE HIM FOR HER ALBUM COVER.

THIS PICTURE REMIND ME SO MUCH ONE OF MY PARENTS PICTURES THAT THEY MADE BEFORE MY FATHER CAME FIRST IN FRANCE BEFORE MY MUM, MY SISTER AND I FOLLOWED HIM 2 YEARS LATER.

I CHANGED MY MIND : MADE A BLOW OUT AND BRAIDS

I DIDN'T LIKE THE SHRINKING EFFECT OF MY TWISTS. PLUS THE TWISTS WERE STARTING TO LOOK OLD AFTER ONLY 1 DAY .I DIDN'T LIKE THAT AT ALL. SO I TOOK THEM OFF. I DECIDED TO FOLLOW JENJEN'S ADVICE BY DOING A BLOW DRY AND MAKE SOME BRAIDS INSTEAD. AND I AM GOING IN FRANCE WITH THAT HAIRSTYLE. I WORE THIS HAIRSTYLE AT WORK TOO AND I WAS REALLY HAPPY WITH MY CHOICE BECAUSE WITH THIS HORRIBLE WEATHER IN LONDON ( HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG WINDS ). THIS IS SIMPLE AND PERFECT FOR ME.

I twisted out. Love the curls, I wish i could keep them out but the weather is very bad in London; Heavy rain and very strong winds:

I brushed and combed my hair;

I put an egg and waited 30 minutes;

I co-washed with my favourite and cheaper conditioner;

I put my personal hair cream a mixed of coconut oil; jojoba oil, alma oil and aloes vera gel;

I blow dried out at low heat

Then my sister made me some braids and that's it;

I really liked the results; I decide to keep this hairstyle the all week; To maintain it I put coconot oil everyday on the scalp and the braids so my hair will be fully protect against this weather;

I WILL BE IN FRANCE TO VISIT MY DEAR PARENTS DURING THE WHOLE WEEK END. SO HAVE A NICE WEEK END EVRYBODY IN ADVANCE.

NOW BACK TO WORK !

WEDNESDAY THE 4 TH JANUARY I am going back to work and honestly I don't want too but i need the money at the end of the month to pay my bills, So....
It is true that i got 2 weeks holiday, the advantage to work in a school but i really need more few days because this week end I am going to France to see my parents.

And i couldn't do it during the holidays cause with all this christmas shopping, I was broke; I am going by coach and it's going to take me between 7 and 9 hours-YES-
and the same amount of hours to come back; So i am going to have more than 14 hours spend in coach-YES AGAIN- It is depressing BUT I HAVE TO. I HAVEN'T SEEN MY PARENTS FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS, WE ALWAYS TALKED ON THE PHONE EVRY WEEK.They live most of the time in Cameroon;

Because all this week i will be busy; i made a very quick hairstyle that doesn't need to carry a lot of products with me; I hate excessive and heavy luggages; When i am travelling i always carry natural shea butter AND BABY OIL with me. First because it is the only PRODUCT my face like without giving me spots;I HAVE A VERY OILY SKIN AND THE BABY OIL it's for my entire body; I also put shea butter on my body but i didn't have enough now SO.....

After my wash and go which was easy to detangle with my cheaper conditioner; My sister made me some big twists that will keep during the all week; for the travel it willl be perfect and so for the maintenance;
I will write a future post about natural hair and traveling because in the lot of blogs people seems to complain about the difficulty to maintain their hair when some of their favourites product are not availables( especially the one who are going to a third world country ); IT IS VERY STRANGE TO ME.

After wash my hair with a gentle natural soap cause I never put shampoo on my hair i applied a mixture of coconut oil, jojoba oil, alma oil and castor oil

Then my sister made me this big twists, my hair shrank cause i just wash it; maybe i should blow out it a little bit to have some length. Need some advices;

I am going to keep it until the end of the week; Maybe i will do it again cause i need to put some moisture on it daily;

We do the same thing on my sister's hair;
